What is Restylane?

Dr. Katayoun Motlagh and her team offer a wide range of dermal filler treatments to help correct aging in the face, addressing lost volume, lines, and wrinkles. Restylane is one of the most popular brands of injectable wrinkle fillers because it treats multiple issues with specialized formulas for results that last. It uses a synthetic version of the body's natural HA (hyaluronic acid), providing the skin with a natural, softer appearance that is fuller and more supple. A personal treatment plan can correct mild, moderate, or severe facial wrinkles and lines, as well as add fullness to the lips and mid-face. Kat Motlagh's Health Clinics at Palmdale, CA, carries several Restylane products, including:

  • Restylane: Addresses facial wrinkles and folds
  • Restylane Defyne: Fills in moderate to deep laugh and smile lines
  • Restylane Lyft: Adds lift and volume in the mid-face
  • Restylane Refyne: Fills in fine to moderate laugh and smile wrinkles
  • Restylane Silk: Creates volume in the lips and smoothes vertical lip lines
  • Restylane Kysse: Improves the volume and contour of the lips

Correcting Sagging Skin & Loss of Volume

To obtain a youthful appearance, it may be necessary to first address volume loss. Depressions in the skin can be filled with various dermal fillers, such as Juvederm, Restylane, & Dysport. After adding volume, sagging skin can be improved with our  skin care products. These products are directly applied to the face and quickly absorbed, delivering ingredients that firm and hydrate the skin, enhancing its overall appearance.

What are the benefits?

Over time, skin might start to look dry, lifeless, and one-dimensional. With Restylane sessions at Kat Motlagh's Health Clinics, you can refresh your skin's layers to find a number of benefits from a variety of different injection options, some of which are:

  • Organic components, like hyaluronic acid, which the body produces
  • Filled out and restored skin texture
  • Versatile treatment options, such as hands, neck, and face
  • Build your confidence from within

How does Restylane work?

Restylane dermal injections are performed in the treatment room at Kat Motlagh's Health Clinics. A numbing cream can be applied for greater comfort if desired. The product is injected into your skin through a fine needle and gently massaged — so it reaches the selected areas. Multiple injections will be needed to be followed by a cold, gentle compress to decrease inflammation. Each Restylane product is injected with the same technique but on different areas of the face targeted to fit your unique concerns and cosmetic goals.

When your Restylane injections are complete, you can return to work. Your recovery will vary based on what you are having treated, so ask your injector about what you should expect. The injection sites may be slightly red and swollen, but this usually goes away in a few hours. Bruising can appear, but this may be concealed with cosmetics. It is suggested that you avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours, and you should sleep upright for at least one night. Many patients will experience some improvements immediately after the injections, but it may take 1 – 2 weeks before the final results develop. Restylane injections typically last about one year based on the exact product selected.

What Does the Recovery from Restylane Look Like?

The recovery period following a Restylane® treatment is generally minimal and manageable. Some patients may experience bruising and swelling, but this typically resolves within a week to ten days. During this time, makeup can be used to conceal any bruises. Once the Restylane® has settled into the treated area, you should notice and enjoy the results of your refreshed appearance.

Restylane FAQ

What is Restylane most commonly used for?
Restylane has many products that are each formulated to make you look refreshed, but still natural. In your initial consultation, your injector can explain the various Restylane formulas and decide which one matches your needs. Restylane Defyne, Lyft, and Refyne improve mild to deep wrinkles and folds. Restylane Lyft and Silk increase volume in the hands, cheeks, and lips, with Kysse has been curated especially for creating fuller, natural lips.

How often do I need to come back for a touch-up?
Typically, Restylane results can last from 6 – 18 months. This will vary depending on which formula is selected, the injection sites, and other factors. During your consultation, your injector will develop your treatment plan, which will include when to schedule appointments for treatments to maintain your appearance.

Do Restylane injections hurt?
You may feel some minor discomfort during the procedure. Before your injection, a local anesthetic can be applied to help you feel more comfortable. Following your treatment, we will apply a cold compress to reduce bruising and swelling.
