Family Medicine Services
What Is Family Medicine?
Family medicine is a healthcare specialty that provides comprehensive care to patients of all ages. This involves the care and treatment of adults and children – from infants to geriatric patients. It also encompasses women’s health and urgent care, with an emphasis on preventative medicine. A family medicine doctor is a primary care doctor, internist, pediatrician, and general practice doctor all rolled into one. When necessary, a family medicine doctor, otherwise known as a family practice physician, can also refer patients to specialists and help coordinate their care. In addition, family practice physicians provide care to their patients when they need to be hospitalized. KMHC Clinic services the following areas in Antelope Valley: Palmdale, Lancaster, Acton and Quartz Hill.
